Saving Daylight

In the first quiet moments before sunlight, I lie awake. I can hear the birds begin to sing and a few cars pass by. I take my time to get out of bed this morning because I’m lost in admiration for Chicago and the lovers I know. I throw on my silk robe and make my way to the kitchen to start the kettle.

As warmer days keep passing, I can’t help but feel born again. Just as the season moves into spring the sun shines a little brighter, the animals seem to have more pep—I find myself feeling less stagnant and excited for picnics in the park, walks through the gardens, and ice cold lavender lemonade. My plants are even looking happier and I can’t wait to make my first spring trip to my local plant shop.

We lost an hour last night but I can’t help but feel like there’s more to gain in the coming weeks. I can’t wait to throw on my favorite dress and sun hat and meet you somewhere quaint outdoors, maybe a conservatory?

bisous bisous,
